Rough Country spacer lift really that bad?

    Agreed, def not the best way to do it. On my new truck suspension is all stock and staying that way for a while.

    If i were going to put a lift on my truck today, i personally would go with the lower end Icon lift. But thats still a lot of dough.

    Stacked spacer lift, 22x12 wheels with stretched 33's, tow mirrors, bull nuts.
    If I were going the budget route it would be OME coils, 5100's and a progressive add a leaf. I've had 3 different lifts on my Tacomas, Spacer/block, Old Man Emu, and now Icon RR ext travel. Guess which one I like the best?

    That's what I did, but even that's not a night and day difference on the street. It's waaay better off-road, but on the street there isn't a huge difference.

    I couldnt do the 5100 specifically because of the preloading. Too many bad memories of the old truck with preloading.

    Fox has a sexy kit, like 4k! But i bet it is amazing. New everything.

    With aftermarket coils the 5100's arent preloaded when set at 0.

    I mean why would you want the street ride different anyways? I think its pretty good with the stock trd or. I did drive an sr5 and could tell the difference between that and the stock trd or.

    Hahaha, I've heard that before, too. The magic valving that somehow makes them more awesome than the non-shiny shock they replaced. :rofl:Or the OME coils that Bilstein doesn't even recommend using with their shocks and won't warranty if you do. :thumbsup:

    Oh trust me im waiting. But i havent given up on my turtle build like you have lol. Im still holding out for the 375hp (wheels) goal. Im not touching suspension till then unlss it needs it.

    I think the stock ide on the street is good for a truck. Not wallowy or squishy but not too firm either. As far as off road goes, yeah the stock trd or suspension like i have could be much better over high speed bumps.

    I would never touch the limiter. Once ucon is released for 09+ (or 12+) then i will continue the quest, until then i dont havmuch left to do.

    I did a dyno one day, it was interesting. Just the stock trd charger. It was free but i never got a printout. It said i put down 242 hp at the wheels and 300 tq. Odd numbers i thought. It was also 95out tht day.

    Ya 60 hp at the crank less about 25% once it gets to the tire , so @45 hp gain at the tire

    So woodex 242 hp seems about right
