    Rock auto is shit. Always has been for me. I only order oem parts now. My truck blew up an idler pulley last weekend and practically took the belt with it so had to get that all replaced. I've pretty much fixed more than actually wheeled the last few months. I feel you there.

    I can't afford the OEM mark up, or that's what I'd do as well. As it is, I try to stick with OEM manufacturers like Denso, Aisin, and Koyo when I can or reputable brands like MOOG and the like if I can't. Occasionally, I'll take a chance on something else if I'm particularly tight on cash, which is what happened this time. I guess I ended up wasting my money there though. :(

    In fairness to Rockauto, they are about 50% cheaper than any local parts shop and have better quality brands in most cases. ;)

    I feel you on that. I've had rock auto screw me a few times. Sadly I have to order a new oem reman cv this week. My passenger one blew the seal and has a scary amount of play in it. It's on it's way out hooray.

    Yeah, it appears they are gonna screw me on the tie rod. Apparently they are unable to just warranty the POS and when the the manufacturer sends them the new one, just put it on the shelf to sell to some other poor bastard while giving my a credit toward the Moog tie rod I want instead, thus saving both of us the headache of shipping the thing back and forth. Instead they will only send me an exact replacement, which, if I bother with it at all, I'll just send right back to them as a return. I'm probably just going to right it off though as much as I hate to do it.

    Stupid CVs. We really need to get rid of those damn things. ;)

    BTW, did you know that Toytec is selling CVs they claim are 2x stronger than OEM? They are only somewhere over $400 a pop. What a bargain. :D I've also seen a set that claims to be as strong as a straight axle. They gold plated or something because these were about $4000 a set. :eek:

    I heard about that. I'll have to check it out. Idk about stronger cvs. Never really had an issue breaking them just wear over time. The Toyota oem ones are pretty dang stout though. I think you mean rcv for the bombproof ones though I've heard of some people breaking them

    Where are you getting the reman'd ones? Toyota? And how much are they? I might have to look into that myself. Honestly, I haven't broken my OEM CVs but that's mainly because I haven't run them much because they are missing the seal protectors off then inside cups. I knocked the one off the last aftermarket POS I broke and put it on the OEM CV and put that back in. I'm not sure how well it's going to work though. If I don't end up losing that seal on that side then the next time I break the other CV, I'll do the same thing and put the OEM one back in. Then we'll see how much tougher they are. I just can't believe I'd break them any faster than you--being on 35s with me being only on 33s, even though they are Swampers. :D
