Can't say never exist. Toyota's 2018 4 cylinder stated to have roughly 190 hp. Enough to move the double cab 4x4 TRD

If you want an I4 diesel, find a cheap 2nd gen and send it to DieselToyz for a $30k swap. If you can find a truck with a blown motor for cheap, you can get the swap for about as much as a 3rd gen.

HP, not mpg is important to Americans. In Europe, the Hilux is sold with the 4 cylinder dbcb configuration. Its cultural, and if offered, quite a few Americans would purchase the same config.

Does not have the reliability or resale value of a Tacoma. My next Tacoma will last 20 years for certain, or longer.

Perhaps importing a Hilux should be one of your options.

I would if I could. I can afford to. Can you? Probably not. I can tell. You have a low society view of the world.

So are you going to do the diesel swap or not?

No. Why would I put my money into a second hand, shade tree mechanic product, not to mention emissions.

    Wants the impossible? Check.
Upset that it can't be delivered? Check.
    Somehow its your fault? Check.

    Yeah, he's a manager alright.

Mr. Torgue and Kevindust like this.
