Help Aftermarket Headunit Owners

Im about to purchase a PIONEER P3100 (Simple Double Din Touchscreen) but..

1. How do I "tune" it once I get it for best sound?

2. How do I setup my steering wheel controls to work with the new radio?

LOL. Is it really in there? I remember reading through a good portion of it when I first bought the truck. Ill check, and if its not in there, Im catching the first flight to Ohio...lol

 

No, when you get the new HU, the owner's manual will tell you how to adjust your EQ. As far as steering wheel controls, I have no idea. I haven't dealt with any of that.

 

I think since he has the Pioneer he'd need the SWI-PS

 

So i just recently did an install myself... sub amp..another amp for speakers..and 4 new speakers..new head unit and a sub. Honestly the best thing to do is to start turning/twisting knobs at what sounds best..get familiar with what controls do what.. play all sorts of music... then bust out some googling for all those knobs and their purpose..certain speakers..mids/tweeters need certain frequency ranges..others need lower frequency's..such as subs.. some settings will be changed at the head unit..some will be changed at the amp side. (if you're skipping amps..then it will be even easier).


Asking specific questions on here is easier to get answers..then asking for "what sounds best" most people will assume you're too noob and just ignore your thread. But if you post a specific question/problem then you'll get better responses/results.
