I think he gave up rather then satisfied his need for knowledge of spacers and blocks, what else does he need to know asides from his truck will ride like a lumber wagon and it does more harm then good

Now blowin engines and nitrogen charged suspension that's something everybody can enjoy

My point was that people always bash the rc spacer lift, but most of them have never owned it.

That's because smart people do their research and realize that it's made in China and it's garbage so they don't buy it

That's because most of them are just repeating what they heard on the Internet. :pccoffee:

    image.jpg

Nobody is even mentioning what size spacer they're condemning. A lot of guys on here run a small spacer to fix the lean and THAT is ok so what size spacer does the Internet say is ok and what size do they "ride like crap"?
There is approximately 1.5" of unused shock shaft on the factory Bilstein shocks. That means if you install a 1" spacer(to achieve a 2" lift) you are still using the factory bump stops. If you go above a ~1" spacer it would be a good idea to space the bump stop an appropriate amount. Doing so will eliminate any chance of the ever so popular "snapped shock" from becoming an issue.

Tons of guys around here run those Rough Country lifts and love them. For serious off-road might not be great, but my hunting buddies seem to love their Rough Country lifts for general use

You could have compared Pit Penn oil to something like Royal Purple. The Pit Penn works like a spacer lift would, but you run a risk of using it.

A spacer lift would be fine for what the OP plans to use his truck for, mostly highway driving. That is the only point I am trying to make.

Sure it would work. But there's still risk. Its still not the right way. And I don't want anyone thinking spacer lifts are fine to use for whatever just cause there buddy has one. Thats why I suggest to skip them all together.

You have to remember that alot of things will "work"

But why would you put a $200 hunk of metal on your 25K+ truck? Bilstein 5100's, OME 887's, and an AAL would probably come out to $600 shipped. Do it right the first time instead of cheaping out with a spacer. If you cannot afford $600 for a decent spring/shock combo then you shouldn't lift it at all.

Essentially, getting a spacer lift is spending money to reduce your truck's capability. There is more to suspension geometry than "stance."
