    Don't waste your $ on boards you will bend them then replace with rock sliders. ;)

    Yes, most stick out about 6 inches depending on style. Some are tight next to the body but if you want a functional step get the ones that stick out some.
    Some people have steps welded on also, but they hang down more like boards and they will definitely be hitting more rocks the lower they hang. The way they are made I can see you getting hung up on the leading and trailing tube more often then sliding. I don't see a need but it depends on the amount of lift and your height and of course personal preferences.
    I have BAMF sliders. BAD ASS MOTHER FUDDERS!
