Hey guys, my next project is rock lights and looking for some input. I want to use a roll or two of led strips since I really liked the way they lit up my bed. And they are much cheaper than the kits I've seen on here. Looking for someone who has tried this, to see how it turned out and how you went about running the strips. Thanks!

I didn't use them for rock lights, but I did have them in the elements and the clear rubber will yellow fast

I put them on late summer, and after a couple days of rain the yellow was there. Def affects the way it looks

Led pods work pretty good and are priced similarly on Amazon/ebay. I have led strip under my doors and hood. They work good there but aren't hit with rain and mud.

Most do 4. I had 4 and just picked up 2 more single row pods for the middle.

Oznium LED Modules are the way to go. Comes with 3m backing, pre-wired in a strand and has holes for permanent mounting. I also use them as bed lights. Had that LED strip stuff before and threw it all in the trash...stuff sucked.

My old Rock crawlers I just used cheap inexpensive fog lights as rock lights and they worked very well . Also being under $10 ea didn't have to worry about destroying an expensive light Assy

I put one near or close to each front wheel and the rear I used just one centered in the frame near the rear axle pointed downwards . These inexpensive lights little up the underside of my jeeps allowing spotters to easily guide me over obstacles at night
