Are Ome and Bilstien really junk though? I don't do any hard core wheeling. I do spend a lot of time on the dirt roads while I hunt though. I don't think I need something that nice.

The Boss coilovers are based on Eibach Pro Truck shocks. I have no experience with them other then seeing them on a 2nd gen. Better than the original 5100 based Toytec coilovers for sure.

 

No I mean while your saving money for your lift don't go buy junk and waste your money lol


Also, note that name brand coilover can be rebuilt. So really you could keep them forever and spend $100 when they ware out, instead of buying new shocks. Just something to think about. But all in all a OME lift or bilstein would suit your needs just fine. Just thank god your not trying to get a spacer lift lol

I'm running ome all around w/dakars in the back. Ride is great and does everything i ask it to.

I dont run through the desert at 90mph or jump it thats what LT is for.

Then don't lift your truck and definately dont get bigger tires. Both of those are going to hurt your gas mileage, especially the tires.

 

Ehh if you drive alot of highway keep the lift at a minimal and get some tires like me, 255/85/16. Your mpg should almost stay the same.

 

Not complaining about gas mileage....

I would suggest keeping lift at around 2" - 2.5" and getting a 255/85/16.

If you just go down dirt roads you don't need a lift. Just get an aggressive AT and call it a day. Save money up front and in the long run.

 

So since on a 0 offset wheel I can run 3.5-3.75 backspacing for a 33x12.5. Does that mean the -10mm offset and 4.1in backspacing be fine? or will it not clear? These are what I want http://www.fnwheels.com/new-products/konig-countersteer-type-x/

The offset determine the back spacing and vis versa. A zero offset wheel on an 8 inch rim has a 4.5 inch back spacing.

I think as long as you have 4.5 back spacing Or less they will fit. Don't quote me on that though. I don't remember.

 

How fast are you running? I love how my icon handle just pot hole filled gravel roads going 50. The truck doesn't feel liked it going to rattle apart.

Too many people on here think they need a lift, 33s, and armor to go "offroad."

The majority of the pictures I see is shit that could be done with a bone stock truck.


If you WANT to drop $1000+ on shit you don't NEED, go for it.

If you use your truck to hunt, buy another gun instead. You might not need it either, but if you are ever tight for cash, you can sell it a lot easier than used truck suspension. And guns > truck mods. Anybody who disagrees probably lives in CA.
