Personally I'd go with the add a leaf, from what I can tell the Tacoma leaf springs don't take too well to blocks since they aren't very heavy duty. Not too much more expensive either

So you don't think that's too bad of a deal, wonder if I should add the 1/2" spacers for 3" inch or not or go 2.5". Think the stock upper control arms can handle the 3" with those coils and trd suspension?

Mine aligned perfectly with 2.5" lift and stock uca, not sure about 3" but with a 4 cyl you'll probably get more lift than most

You have the nitro shocks? What tires are those?
Coils+shocks and coilovers are the same thing- you're going to be trying to decide between ride height adjustable (bilstein) or fixed (OME). Both are good and will ride better than stock on road and offroad. For the 2.5" lift I think the smoothest budget shock is the Bilstein 6112 because it's a wider diameter shock, it comes with a spring. The 6112 is a few hundred more than the standard bilstein 5100 however. I would look at either matching a bilstein 5100 with an OME 885, getting a bilstein 6112 package, or getting the OME kit that includes front and rear shocks + 885 spring + rear Dakar leafs.

I could just install them and not use the 1/2" spacer and that would be 2.5" of lift that way the alignment should be on spot!

Also I shouldn't need sway bar relocation brackets and a differential drop should I?

Same lift , now I have LT275/70/17 Hankook ATm

I think in hindsight I liked the MT's better

You still using stock UCA and stock rims? I have the same height and running 265/70/17 and want to go up to 275/70/17 have about a 1/4 inch from UCA and am thinking I might need 1/2 spacers.

We're you having alignment/rubbing issues at 2.5" or just looking to upgrade?
By stock TRD rims I meant the 16" TRD fake beadlocks. Sorry for the confusion.
