Well, I need to replace oil pan gasket. Either seal it or use gasket (or both)

question is, what would steps be to do this on my vehicle? Changing oil and need to do this as well, and am stuck on this.

Vehicle is 01 Tacoma prerunner. 2wd.

I don't know what to do here, and I don't have a lot of experience so any help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Best to consult the FSM as no one with first hand knowledge has chipped in.

Looking at the oil pan many a time. They look like M6 bolts, which will be between 89 and 109 in-lb. I have a method for replacing aluminum pans that has served me well (they flex/warp more than steel pans like on the tacoma). Might want to use it for good measure.

Take the gasket and using your thumb and index finger, spread a thin layer of RTV silicone over the entire gasket. Just enough to cover it in black (the color of the silicone). You just want a film of it to be covering the gasket. Insert two to four of the bolts in to place the pan, and straddling the pan, place it and thread in the bolts.

Hand thread all the bolts for the pan. Torque them down starting at the center of the pan, on either side, going back and forth, to the short ends of the pan. You can do this in stages, using a torque wrench on the final pass.

I did 48 inch pounds. Felt really tight. I'll see how that goes.

Looking in the FSM. The proper torque spec is 66in-lb.

48in-lb is too low. Though honestly, even the dealer wouldn't be using a torque wrench if you took it for them to change.

Mind linking me to torque spec?

I mean, it felt really tight. I did cork gasket, not sure if the added thickness of it is why and yes I'm aware that rtv is recommended before someone says so :p
