muffler size? truth needed.

    if i were to buy a new muffler what size should i be buying?

    I see on here that some people say it is a 2.25 inch in and out muffler, some say 2.5.

    what is it?

    how can i find out ? thanks.

    getting there....
    all the mufflers i used on my 2nd gen, as well as the first gen i have now are 2.5 inch(except when i had a dual setup...it was 3 inch in/2.5 inch out) in and out. if you are getting it done at a shop...they bridge the gap when they weld it on.

    well my dear friend...the actual size of toyota pipeing is 2.25 inches...however you can skate by with 2.5 but i would go with 2.25 inch

    great thanks.

    also what about the location of where they go in and out. such as center center, Offset Inlet / Opposite Side Offset Outlet. etc

    hmm..im not so sure about location...however its 2.25 inch inlet and 2.25 outlet and my exhaust on my truck ( jardine exhaust) i know it comes form the headers in one corner of the muffler and exits through to the other side the opposite side
