    Very CONFUSED

    I want to get 285/70 R17 or 285/75 R16....

After reading through tons of posts, it appears hit and miss...
Some will say they (lifted 1.75" and no rub) and others say (3" lift and rubbing)...WHAT???

I understand wheel offset pays a roll in some, but even some who have same wheels report different things...Is there some sort of set up or formula I'm missing???

I want to have a truck that PREFORMS and LOOKS GOOD....
Any help in the matter would be MUCH APPRECIATED...THANK YOU

I think a lot of it has to do with proper alignment. Icon says that a 285 will be fine but the caster needs to be set towards the higher positive side of being within specifications (+4).

Personally I don't want to chance it, so I am probably going to go with a 275/70r17

I completely understand OP. I'm having issues figuring it all out as well.

I'd like to go with 17x9 6x5.5 -12 Rims with toyo Open Country AT II 265/70/17.

This is a package deal I found but not sure if it works with my stock SR truck.

I remember reading that tire size works but all the numbers on the wheel itself confuses me.

285/70 17 rub with a stock wheel. Don't let anyone tell you different. You need either 1.25 spacers or wheels.

I have been scratching my head on this issue as well, and I have also come to the above conclusion. What confirmed it for me also was this post from Anthony (@\000/ ) in Hawaii: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ng-a-2016-tacoma.395798/page-17#post-11208309. His truck looks killer running 275s with stock UCAs and no rubbing on the OME setup, which is the lift I am probably going with.

Here is another one Post #1554
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/lifted-16-tacomas.392765/page-78#post-11319096

I've been doing the research and it looks like the 2" of lift my Icon Stage 2 is supposed to net me upfront should be enough to clear the setup.
