Got a little sideways in that pull, when it broke loose. Started in 2nd gear. Had to let off. Hit it again, then switched to 3rd to finish it. To cold for good traction.

 

Can't wait to see what it'll do with Goldylocks. Will be picking it up today.

I was trying to find a good Michelin unibrow but figured that would work too. haha

 

Here's about the best unibrow I could find in 5 minutes.

 

Two 275's per tire or more.

Still don't have the engine back, but I can truly state that it is being worked on and fast. Ends up being a good thing that I didn't pick up the engine on Monday. It was my plan, and I went there with every intent to retrieve it. A proposition was made to correct their extended time frame, which was fair.

Where it comes out in favor of me not picking it up, is that an issue with the pistons was found. Yesterday, as they were assembling the pistons, after gapping all of the rings, they found that some of the piston rings were not fitting as correctly as they should. They were effectively too thin.

The main bearings were in, all ARP studs ready and the 4 for the rear main cap were machined. Including the rear main, to allow the ARP nut & washer combo to fit underneath the oil pan. Block was thoroughyl cleaned, which meant removing the freeze plugs. Crank was installed, and that is where they stopped.

Here you see the front of the block, where the custom freeze plug was removed. As well as on the opposite end.



Here is the fresh, smooth, clean, sparkling deck.



No worries of uneven surfaces causing blown head gaskets this time around.

New rings will be here tomorrow.

If it pans out, I have a surprise for the block's new paint colour.
