02 Tacoma, fixed with curse words.

No they are not junk, i still have my original set of OME 882s that i put on when i first lifted the truck, and DD on them for 50k miles. I ran OME shocks out back (broke one due to bad mounting on my part) 5100's (loved those) and i now have bilstein 7100s out back. Don't waste your money on coil overs, you will go exactly the same distance down the trail as the guys with coil overs do.

Heres what the mod order should be:
    recovery points
    sliders
    skid plates
new front bumper so you can mount a winch
    a winch
a rear locker if you don't have one
    lift
    tires
    crawl box

The hell with extra lights (great way to make the people behind you an your spotter want to kill you), roof racks are tree anchors, the hell with a RTT ($20 coleman tent off Amazon FTW)

Will it look cool, no, but it will wheel like crazy and you will be a better driver for it.
    @pittim is right
    Off my soap box now.

Wanting to spend the extra money and buy a good name brand suspension lift after reading reviews on OME and Bilstein shocks. Not sure as to which one I should get; King, Fox, etc. Also some advice about what to go with on upper a-arms would be appreciated.

If you still have your old springs you can cut them down and put them in for an AAL. I originally bought the toytec AAL when I lifted and the passenger side broke after a year or so. Recently had my frame replaced and got brand new springs installed and was fortunate to stumble upon a member giving away a factory set so I figured I'd give it a shot. It lifted my sagging ass from 20" to 22.75". I do probably carry about 500lbs with the cap, sleeping platform, and tools. If you have access to some good drill bits, drill press and grinder its practically a free mod if you can get some free springs. All I needed was 2 center pins and friction pad. (reused the old ones). I really should get longer Ubolts but the factory ones work barely with 2 extra leaves.

If your going to run those coilovers you posted they are the factory series which means you don't really need uca's with it,! It helps! But you don't need them. Unless you get extended travel coilovers, you don't really have to have new uca's!

While I've been lurking your build thread and can definitely tell you know your shit and have a ton of wheeling experience under your belt, I have to disagree with tires being next to last. I would not feel comfortable airing down passenger tires to play in the rocks compared to a good M/T or A/T. Unless you are talking about going to 33's or 35's etc.

I'm planning to go to ADS. Why? Because everybody that has them loves them. Now whether or not some of those people know if they're better than Fox or King, I'm not sure. They're the new popular things too haha

Kind of what's in my head as far as people using them and their reviews! Seems like a well built coilover! Not saying the others aren't! I am a rookie in the coilover suspension department lol!

What brand exhaust is that? Didn't know LCE made exhaust systems if it's them.
Pretty much. I think only those that understand valving will really have a fair review on what's the best. I definitely don't know haha

Yeah definitely! I have read how those types of coilovers work with like the remote resevoir but know nothing beyond that!

I wheeled the stock tires that you saw on there for a year, they were whatever crappy BFG's came on that thing. I will say they actually did pretty damn well aired down to 5 psi, my ground clearance sucked though LOL! Wheeling with crappy tires will definitely teach you how to pick lines!!

On a high school or cheap ass budget, would just buy some used MT tires and beat the fenders to fit.

My advice was based off lessons learned from a jeep build, my tacoma build, and money wasted over the years. My jeep i did the "lift and tires" first and lockers last and i should have went in the order i listed. The tacoma i stuck to the script i wrote. If i build another toyota i would get a crawler before even lifting the truck and go right to a solid axle.

    Pics for proof:

Purchased all of this from LCE. The header, piping and tip are all LCE. The catalytic converter and muffler are magnaflow. Apparently LCE has designed their system around Magnaflow

Still rocking my 881s I got in 09 can't go wrong with OME oldest company out there, needs zero maintaince. All the fancy ones need rebuilds every 2 years or so if you hit any mud puddles or road salt. And if your like me and buy a pair of Sway Aways used on Craigslist and find out they discontinued the parts and will only sell you new ones at a comped price that is higher than new ones at every other retailer....

I have a cracked cast iron manifold and my catalytic converter just went out at 205K miles. I compared the costs of collecting multiple OEM parts and pieces (01-04 mini header) from different suppliers and it all came out comparable to LCE's full set up (with all gaskets, nuts bolts etc..). The difference was that all the parts and pieces were conveniently in one place/ purchase with LCE. I would hate to say exactly how much but I did not pay full retail that is listed on LCE's website. It was a fair and good deal for all that I got. Ask for Brad, he was very helpful.
