When do you anticipate having images of the complete and powder coated units, and of the installation process? Inquiring minds wanna know! ;)

How can there NOT be more room than stock? If that's true, then what is the advantage? A lock?

Well if you take the stock plastic storage out, you will see you don't have anymore room unless you cut into the cab. This unit is for someone who is looking to keep something safe and secure in their truck and lock it. I'd love to make more space but then everyone is looking at cutting into their cabs just to have more storage. Then that takes away the simplicity of the install.

I want one so that I'll have a place inside the truck where items can can be reasonably secured and not just hidden from view.

For instance, there's some grey area in my state (NC) concerning the storage of long guns inside a truck cab. To remove any doubt as to what constitutes being "in reach" of the driver, a concealed long gun must be stored inside a locked container. The OEM under-seat box doesn't lock, and can't really be altered to lock in any useful manner (since the plastic panels can be ripped out by hand). But if I replace that flimsy plastic box with a steel/aluminum rig with actual locks, a rifle can legally be both secured and concealed.

I'd love to be able to fit a carbine in there. About 38.5 inches long. Any chance?

Length wise should be no problem. The only issue I see is the middle hump is only 1.5" towards the back and 3" at the front on the stock plastic one. Hard to tell from the OP's picture if this one will be any different. Guess it would depend what part of the gun runs through this area and how thick your gun is at that point. Also you'd probably want to pad the lid and below it so your carbine isn't getting muffed up, so that will take a little space also. Maybe the OP can chime in with the measurements there.

Post #134, $399.95 for the double cab. Doesn't say when they will have a access cab one, just that they will.

At this rate you may get an access cab version by 2017. Had a PM in for a long while with other questions and no response.
