So I can fold my tonneau (Extang Solid 2.0) over my quick bike cleats, but it leaves a bit of a hump and small gap on either side. I'm not worried about whatever water may get in, as nothing is in the bed that I need to worry about, but will this wreck the cover by chance?

I realize this may be a stupid Q, but I live on this site for all the advise and insight and am looking for some now. ;)

I've included some pictures because A) everyone loves pictures and 2) it may better explain what I'm trying to say.

ps... yes A and 2

I was thinking about doing the same setup. Would bolting the cross rail to the bottom of the cleat affect the strength.

Why not mount the bracket On the bottom of the cleat? It would give you enough clearance to avoid hitting...

The bars themselves are fasted to the cleats, so switching them over would take as long as removing the bike bracket... but I hadn't checked if they could be mounted under.... will need to check if the slot would be wide enough to facilitate this. I'm about to take out the trash... so while I'm out there, I shall investigate and report my findings.

Sometimes the obvious solution needs to be slapped into you!

Thanks!! Just remounted the cross bar below the cleat and voila!! I can now keep it all together, neatly installed and with just enough clearance to put my mind at ease. To serve me right, it began lightly raining when I went to check and so I did the work in the rain, to remind me to think a bit more lol.

    Thanks again TW peeps!
