What does Plaster Stick To?

I am in the process of doing my final project for my Fine Arts Survey class and I have to build a castle. I was going to use plaster and I wanted to know what would make it stick well to it. Someone said that putting duck tape on the surface will help, any suggestions?

so duck tape wont be good?

 

chicken wire is good. with duct tape.......the plaster will work on it, but alot of times,it will slide off.

 

i think duct tape has too much of a glossy smooth finish, maybe that mesh drywall tape would work hard to say i dont know the scale of your castle??

whats the castle frame made from

 

the walls are going to be made from a stiff cardboard and for the towers i am using Pringles cans

 

ok if I was building this I would go to home depot get a small roll of the mesh tape for drywall, it sticks really good and you can wrap it around anything

 

Mesh tape looks similar to gauze, but the mesh tape would be the better choice right?
