My buddy works at a buddy shop. The glass will be getting paints anyway so not worried about scratches. But thanks. Excited to order now rather than terrified lol

Gto, camaro, firebody, c5 vette. Any of those contain an LS. I know you could find one in a scrap yard, pull everything in a day and have a running motor for about the same, maybe a bit more. Or buy a running older camaro for like $3,000, pull motor, tranny, harness, everything, and sell the shell for $1k+, part it out, or scrap it. Not much more expensive and just a bit more fab work for a much stronger set up.

In CA you can't transplant anything older than your vehicle and you have to use all of the OE emissions crap as well to pass inspection:

Oh shit, didn't look to see that you were in Cali. We don't have shit like that in Tn. in the few counties that have emissions testing, they just check to make sure there aren't any check engine lights or that it isn't putting out to much C02

Never seen anyone do a LS swap in an offroad truck that really gets used and has 400+ HP for under $10,000. And all of those were already running a 9" rear end or bigger. And all of those did it themselves and didn't pay a shop.

Ya Mines a stock 5.3 out of a salvaged truck nothing special. I did it myself but I think any average garage fabber can do it pretty easily

Yeah I can't get in to that Extreme clip from Fiberwerx. Ours is the 1st Gen Tacoma to Tundra conversion kit. I forget the measurements but I would personally say over the years given the amount of spray we get on the truck from the front tires I wouldn't have something a little wider. What I'd really like in a perfect world is a 1st one piece. The 1st gen to 2nd gen clip Fiberwerx makes is a little wider and honestly I'd consider switching to that if I had money to burn. Maybe I'm just bored with the current look of the truck, LOL.

Anyway, we've always had great dealings with the Fiberwerx crew.

Agreed with Khris, I think the "Thumpers" or whatever they call tranny alley on the map is a pretty cool spot to watch the TTs hit 120+. For the most view time the Quarry is probably the best.

Also, if you want to hang out in the pits at all shoot me a message/email. Pit speed is limited so as far as "action" there is none but if you have any desire to see it anyway I'm sure we can work something out for you.

^^^I would agree. I figured I would be almost into just parts alone for a swap. Though I am 4wd so I had a nice Tcase added into that cost. Then comes the question of how long would my Tacoma diffs last under 400+ HP... I've already killed 3 with the stock V6...

I was a little hesitant to pick up a $500 5.3L because they are typically cast iron block and almost twice the weight of the 4.0L and my front end is already too heavy... though I'm 4wd so I have the front diff and all that up front already. If you are a 2wd you can probably handle that extra weight. I was looking at aluminum blocks and they typically run $3000-$4000 used. Even the aluminum blocks are about 100 lbs heavier than the 4.0L.

If I was gonna do a clip I would do yours! I really like that clip. That high arch one is little too much for my tastes!

And I agree completely if someone made a 1st gen clip that had the 1st gen looks but nice and wide I would get one ASAP.
