I just read through this more. You said you had some Pentax lenses already. Depending upon how much each lens was and how many you had your invest in lenses will be useless if you get a Nikon. IMO Nikons are superior cameras but if you have alot invested in the Pentax lineup then it may not be worth going the Nikon route.

Another one of your posts said that your looking for 5fps. The Nikon D200 shoots that fast. I was recently on ebay and watched a couple of them end and with the battery grip, good condition, low actuations one went for about $500. My dad has a d200 and it's a great camera. He's a photographer on the sides. Typically he has a shoot every weekend to every other weekend. He used to have a studio but he didn't make enough to justify the rent so after a year he decided to downsize. Anyway the main advantages that I see that the D300 has over the 200 is 6fps compared to five(unless you get the battery grip then it's 8fps) 51 focus points opposed to 11 I believe on the 200 and the ISO goes up to a whopping 6400 compared to the d200 that goes up to an equivalent 3200. If you are willing to sacrifice a few features then it's worth the cost savings imo.

About your pic a couple of pages back, was that on a tripod. I noticed that it was pretty clear but not quite crisp. If it was on a tripod try putting it on a timer or use a remote to prevent from moving it as you move your finger off the shutter release if you didn't already do that. Other than that great pic.
    Good luck.

That's odd. I thought that vandalism was covered with no deductible?

It is if you buy a policy with a $0 deductible for comprehensive.

Makes sense. I just remember my dad saying that we wouldn't have a deductible if something like that happened, so I guess we do.

    Thanks

The difference in cost on my policy with State Farm for 0 deductible and 500 deductible on comprehensive was 40 bucks for 6 months... that was a no brainer...

Well they figure that your chevy being about 2 years old is only worth about $500 or so. So if it gets destroyed it won't cost them too much.:p
