    Just to confirm, the overall height of your cap is the same as the overall height of the plastic cap? My tonneau seal is very tight, wouldnt want to make it tighter.

    Also, what do the stock bolts screw into? Welded on nuts? Just wondering seeing as how the added strength this cap should bring rests directly on those bolts.

    This cap sits a little lower than the factory cap.

    It screws into the factory plastic inserts inside of the tailgate. They have proven to be strong enough for the new cap.

    When you install the new cap, it "squeezes down" over the gasket material. The screws just hold it in place. It adds a lot of strength.

    Sorry for the stupid question. By "It raises the height of the new cap to match the height of the stock cap", are you referring to the height of the side caps? Meaning, it'll be flush with them since the stock one isn't?!

    Perfect. That's what I wanted to hear! My hard cover sits "funny" on the back because of that. Hate how the stock cap is "flimsy" and lower. Can't figure out why they would have done that, but whatever.

    My cap still won't be level with the factory side rail caps though, just an FYI.

    If you want everything to be level, you need to get my side rail caps as well.

    Meh, there's still going to be a noticeable difference, unfortunately. The factory side rail caps are ridiculously high.

    I see... something to consider then, buying all of your stuff so it all matches up. I might buy it all then. have my hard cover on it now, because of the winter, so probably going to do it in the spring so I can install it all then.
