    Hi from Québec, Canada!
I have an old Taco 2006 with over 250000 miles that I bought brand new 10 years ago. It's a very good and tuff little truck. Never had any real problems with it.

Lately I had to chang the spiral cable cause the air bag light was always on... It was very easy to chang but now, the horn is on has soon has I'm pluging the batterie back. I had to take out the horn fuse out to make it stop... Now the air bag is out but the horn is on!!!

Any body knows what's going on???

Where did you get the spiral cable from? Check the connector pins, one might be bent the wrong way.

    Reserected from the dead.
The horn activation is done by grounding the horn plate to the steering wheel body. Its a mechanical connection that is supported by small springs. The springs keep the horn carriage from grounding out until you push on the horn. I bet once you take that bag out, you will see right away were the touching of the metals is occuring

I agree you have a grounding issue with the horn wire behind the spiral cable.

    Thank's for the tips!
That was a little bended pin on the connector...
    Now everything is working perfectly

Did you purchased a new one? You could probably be reimbursed since you truck was included in the recall.

I have a 2012 and the horn has stopped working. Nothing else seems to indicate its the spiral cable. I have checked the fuses and the horn works when I hit the panic button. Removed the airbag and didn't notice anything unplugged or disconnected? The blue horn scare looking fuse seems to be fine also. Would like some advice before I drop some cash on replacing the cable. If the horn is the only thing not working is it even possible to suspect that. Called the dealership and they said something about a horn pad??? I just hit 160k on my truck

Was your truck ever recalled? Did you ever take in in for the recall? Do you know if it's been in for the recall? Have you gone in and asked/called if it's part of the recall?

My truck is not one of the ones under recall. Called them yesterday. The odd thing is its just my horn. Most people have air bags and other issues. Horn works when you hit the panic button. Funny thing is I had read somewhere that sometimes dust gets in the grooves. So I sprayed electronic cleaner in between the space between the airbag and steering wheel housing. Horn worked great and after about 10 minutes quit working again. So I sprayed some on the bottom crack between the air bag and steering wheel housing. Hasn't worked since then. Driving me crazy because I am fixing to need an inspection.

Sounds like you found the issue, you need to remove the airbag and clean the area thoroughly around the contacts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjoTus5q5p0

That was the problem, thank's so much. I just add to bent one connector pin and every thing was back to normal!

Just so happens that I had the exact same problem with a spiral cable I bought on eBay. Glad it worked out for you. :)
