I am ordering all my parts for lighting and electronic accessories prior to me receiving my 2016 (November 24th). I am trying to decide what switches to order for my lighting and such. Can some one with a TRDOR with Manual transmission please tell me how many blank switch locations there are? Also, what color do they light up at night? A picture may be all I need to figure this out. Thanks in advance.

Not many...I have ONE, but I have premium tech package which adds the blindspot monitoring (one down switch below) and the moonroof (two switches overhead) so without that you get maybe an extra three.

My camera can't really pick up the lighting very well but it's a nice blue. Can try to run out with the better camera if you need a better idea of what they look like in the dark.

So the way I count I should have 5 open spots since I have no moon roof (2), no bsm or sonar (2) and one more blank. My switches I ordered are green (when parking light are on) and red (when there is power to the accessory ) they might look OK since it seems like the colors are all over the place on the inside of these trucks.

It's possible that the two for the moon roof are actually just one. If you look on the other side of that unit they only fit the single trac off switch in the same space.

Yes while all the ambient button back lighting is the same blue there are greens reds and oranges elsewhere!

Right we do but how do we get those covers with just the open spots since ours are closed off and I dont want to do any cutting???? I just want the limited with all accessories cover but with the switches open that I dont have so I can install my switches if that makes sense at all???Either for the roof area or center area where the Qi button is, etc..

You are correct. There are not blank switch locations if you don't have the options. That's why I put all of my switches in the sunglass holder. It seems that if you could buy the panels that come with the tech packages you could replace them and then use the switch locations. I figured it was easier and cheaper to install in the sunglass holder.20151219_110015.jpg

Yeah I would do that too but I dont have the sunglass holder in my TRDOR, so Im trying to figure out what to do???? I cant be the only one in this dilemma. Anybody else find a solution to this yet???? I want to get my PA/CB and my PODS hooked up and not just my light bar. LOL.

You could fit a SwitchPro in the pocket to the left of the steering wheel. Pricey but looks easy and awesome.

I dont particularly want to fill that pocket I enjoy being to put my garage door opener right in there or little things. But out of curiosity do you have a link to what you are referring to?

It is, but it's the best option for those of us that want to run a lot of different shit and only have one blank switch

With the manual it is pretty easy to install 6 switches in the sun glass compartment.

I do like what you did, but I don't want to cut my compartment. Plus it would drive me absolutely nuts if I didn't cut everything straight. I was thinking of 3D printing my own switch box but I still don't know where I want to mount it yet. If that fails, I'll just have to pony up and get one from Switch Pros

what are those who are installing the push button OEM style switches into the sunglass holder using as a slot to put those buttons into? Where do I get that piece?

I bought the switches and the housing from this place. And yes I used a Dremel tool to cut the slot for the housing. It them just snaps in place and the switches snap into it.

Here is a pics of it. You can see the shapie line I drew around the housing. I then just cut with the Dremel to this line. The housing then just snaps in place. Looks very clean and factory. Just make sure you center it left to right. There is not much room on the back side for an off center error.20151129_102248.jpg
