@bobsuruncle Look into getting regular toyota bushings instead of using the OME ones. The OME ones have been known to cause squeeking. Mine are squeeking bad ive just been to lazy to replace them. Not all do squeek though. Also if you have the time id recommend taking the pack apart and painting them. Th paint job on my set was crap and there was rust spots on them even when i received them. Plus being apart lets you spray lube on them easier.


I also have a set of 24" long brake lines for the rear I wont be using. I got a set from wheelers to use instead. One of the ones i had just did not want to thread on properly on end (neither line worked though so it was the flare on the truck as best i could tell). Its the set from the steel braided group buy on here. They are black. Id let them go for 30 bucks

 

This place sounds dangerous for my slim wallet... I'm scared to go

@velillen isnt it the leafs that are squeaking? Mine are bad in the summer but I doused them in corrosion x (thick waxy like substance) and that helped a ton, don't think it's my bushings. I'm pretty sure someone sells a kit to fix the leaf spring squeak..
But yes take them apart and paint.

 

If they are poly bushings, they are gonna squeak. Just how that goes

Get the shit out of those groceries! For reference I have the 2.5 Icon Ext Coilovers and UCAs/Dakar Leaf pack with AAL and ext travel shocks in the back. Everything was bought from Wheelers I think i dropped ~3500. I think Bob and I will have the same lift here pretty soon!

And as for the Dakars squeaking.. The only time they have squeaked on me is after 2-3 days straight of dirt roads, sprayed them down with lube and havent heard a peep since.

 

@Greddy did you install the driveline carrier bearing drop with the dakars?

 

My opinion is to never install carrier bearing drop, diff drop, or shims, UNLESS you end up with a vibration problem after lift. Don't try to fix it if it ain't there.

Edit: I think I talked @Greddy out of the cb drop on install day

 

@bobsuruncle naw, i didn't install the driveline carrier spacer or the rear leaf spring shims. No vibrations but that doesn't mean everything is ok haha.

Side note, I did I order a u bolt flip yesterday. Should be a fun shop day job.

Relentless! All my small parts are relentless it seems. CMC plates, hood mounts, ubolt flip.

If I do that, which I would. I think I'll need new rear shocks and relocation too.

 

I ended up doing the driveline drop on my dakars because of vibration was hesitant to but I will not do the diff drop.

Yeah I saw that thread. I need to take mine out that the previous owner put in.

 

Anyone done the locker anytime or the abs kill switch mods. I want to do both but a little confused on wiring.
