Dude put too much money in his truck to just turn around and sell the bitch. I bet you anything he f**ked it up with all of those mods and he don't wanna drive the bitch no more. So he traded the bitch in and now the dealer is stuck holding the truck.

Damn.. starting bid of 40k? and it has a reserve? .. Not sure if all the mods done are worth the full 40k there. Is that really 12-15k worth of mods that were done?

It’s probably something he always wanted and then got bored with it. It reminds me of an older Ford Bronco an acquaintance of mine had. He must have dumped 60k into this thing and it still wasn’t done. Next time I saw him he had a 100k Mercedes where the suspension would drop 4” if you were really hauling ass on the autobahn. He still had the Bronco though. This guy ran a hedge fund and pulled in about 1M a year.

This looks like a cost is no object build. He could easily have 20k in mods on this thing.

Its a hell of a nice truck, this is true. But that is not worth $40K.

Yep! My thoughts exactly. Who knows if the SC was a backyard mechanic job? 40k for a taco is just plain FKN stupid. But there are stupid people in this world so I'm sure it will get sold.

My Local dealer had an '08 Tacoma double cab TRD Sport Prerunner with a 6" Fabtech lift with procomp wheels/tires that they wanted $42,999 for (brand new).

If you read the write up the truck has about 55k into it total. If this was close to what I wanted and everything seemed to be in order, 40k would be a bargain. Seriously, does this build look like some kind of hack job? I doubt it. That said I would never be in the market for this truck. I’d take one of the Superperfomance Cobras they have for sale though.

LOL, how can you tell if the supercharger install was a hackjob? You can't from just looking from the outside. Hell, they could tell us that they bored out the cylinders for more displacement. Point is, you can't tell if it's a hackjob. With this much money on the line, I will just assume it's a hackjob.

First of all I wouldn’t buy it off eBay. I’d fly up to Seattle and check it out. Then, if I was interested in the truck I’d track down the owner, look at all the receipts and make an informed decision. The small amount of legwork would be worth 15k.

Dude, that makes sense. It's just I don't have patience enough to f**k with something like this. The $tealer is going to give you a hard time anytime you have a warranty claim, and you will have some with how young this truck is. Just not my bag. But I hear ya, it's a calculated risk. I still wouldn't even even piss on the bitch.

This is tacoma country, we're thinking about buying the name from Washington state and renaming central VA "Tacoma"
