CVT Tents are one of the brands many of us use. Good quality and you get what you pay for

Thank you Robert/CVT! I'll reach out to you separately. I wasn't even expecting such a response so thanks for being willing to listen. I think it's been 1 1/2 years because I got it during the early summer from the 2014 group buy. I'll double-check :)

Been searching a while without any luck. Is it possible to close up the tent with the annex still attatched and slide the cover over it? I have a CVT Mt. Bachelor for reference. Thanks.

i know a couple of folks have done that but i don't see how...i know the cover on my bachelor is pretty snug as is, can't imagine trying to cram the annex under there too

I doubt it. Quite a large amount of material you're trying to add.

Not sure if this has been covered or not. To lazy to read through 314 pages. Went camping with the CVT out in the high desert(red rock canyon) Had crazy shit your pants wind gusts! Don't know the exact mph of the gusts but people in motor-homes and other ground dwelling tents were all freaked out. The CVT performed just as expected! Not one problem besides me not tying stuff down. Thanks Bobby and CVT! Great product!

It was suggested that I post in here to hopefully find a buyer/trader. I'm looking to trade my Tepui Autana (Standard Autana, not sky/ruggedized, used ONCE) for a Kukenam or a CVT Mt. Bachelor in similar condition. Just moving the tent to a trailer and won't have need/ability to use the annex. Being open - just trying to make back some of the difference between the MSRP of the two tents, not all of it, to help with the trailer cost.

I would also sell the tent outright and then I'd want to pick up a CVT Mt. Bachelor.

Need help guys. Anyone ever broke the side release buckles that are on each side of the tent to help hold it closed before you put the cover on? I snapped BOTH sides packing up this weekend and now there is a ton of pressure on the cover zipper because the tent isn't strapped closed properly. Waiting on reply from cvt to see about warranty but is there an alternate solution that works better than plastic buckles?

a pair of metal d rings maybe? trouble is if they get cinched too tight they're nearly impossible to undone

How would i get drings on it? 1 side of the strap is fixed length with the female side of the buckle. That side i could attach a caribiner or ring too. But the other side is a nylon strap with the male side of the buckle. Thats the side you adjust and it has no loop in the nylon strap. Its just open ended so you tighten and loosen the buckle. Hope this makes sense. This is where im lost

Exact same thing happened to my Tepui. They shipped new buckles and straps that apparently attach to the tent with sheet metal screws. Meanwhile, could you cinch it down with ratchet straps?

I could but i dont know how i would use the rathchet strap with the cover. Theres nowhere to attach the strap too. I just bought replacement buckles from REI they are pretty beefy but i have a feeling they will probably break again. I know CVT will mail new straps but i dont have time to wait

This is what i will probably end up doing once my replacement buckles eventually break too. Anyway you can take a picture for me? Or can anyone with a Tepui tent take a pic of how they do their setup?

The d-ring on the Tepui is used to snug down the cover once it's on. To hold the tent closed, they use the same exact buckles you have. My method now is to not use the buckles to tighten the fold down, but rather to sit on the tent to get enough compression, then buckle it up. Puts less strain on those plastic POS buckles. Poor design choice if you ask me.

Thanks for the pics! Ill try my replacement buckles and Bruces "sit on the tent" method and see what happens. If it breaks again, maybe time for a dring or caribiner and velco strap. I also thought about a leather strap with a belt buckle type latch so i can really strap it down. Well see. Thanks for everyones help!
