I am simply curious if anyone else has experienced this issue.

The 'chrome' on the surround has bubbled up, and it seems like it will only get worse as time goes on. I only have ~5,000 miles on the truck and the grille looks like junk to me now.

It looks like a rock may have been the culprit (or maybe a rock + cold temps), but it seems pretty crappy overall that one little rock can ruin the grille for good.

*I realize some of you think the stock grille looks like junk even when perfect...I don't care about you opinion on how the stock grille looks--that's not the question here*

Take in. Don't tell them what you think could have happened; it's their job to figure it out. Otherwise you get bs responses back that you damaged it under normal wear and tear blah blah blah.

Agreed that it's going to get worse, but figured it would be ruled as damage. I have seen Accords that had the same problems with the faux chrome...

I'm taking it in for the 5k service tomorrow and will give it a shot like UrbanTaco suggested.

Is that a dent or a sag?

High efficiency windows on buildings can make short work of destroying a grill while you're parked and grabbing some lunch. They usually show up as a sag or wrinkled appearing chrome.

Interesting. It's a bubble/wrinkle from it separating from the surround. I can push on it and hear the 'chrome' click

There was a guy in the last year that posted here trying to figure out what happened to his grill and it had a great pic, but I can't find it.

If you google "high efficiency windows melted my" you'll find a lot of info, though. It might sound kind of strange, but the way they bounce heat makes them extremely efficient at melting shit.
