Thanks again Daniel @MOT for the share on FB! My tires sold pretty quick. Anyway is there anyone in VEGAS that plans to travel to AZ within the next week?? I agreed to meet the buyer of my 5 toyo 35" R/Ts who lives in Vegas half way in Kingman, AZ, but he's out of town this weekend. If any of you fine gentlemen can help me out lemme know. I'm supposed to get my new truck this Saturday so hopefully that pans out which means whomever meets me gets to see it first haha

Creech or Nellis? Area around Nellis is pretty sketchy.

As for things to do, if you like the outdoors Vegas is awesome. I was pissed when I got assigned here, but now I'm dreading the day I leave.
    • Red Rock Canyon borders Vegas to the west and is super beautiful. Lots of fun hiking, scrambling, rock climbing and canyoneering.
    • Lake Mead borders Vegas to the east. It has boating, and lots of wilderness. I love hiking out there, lots of history. The mix of volcanic formations and sandstone creates some really diverse, colorful terrain.
    • Bordering Vegas to the north is the Desert National Wildlife Refuge, at over 1,500,000 acres it is the largest wildlife refuge in the lower 48. Lots of great backcountry to explore out there.
    • North West of Vegas is the Spring Mountains and Mt Charleston. Well developed trail system and a great break from the summer heat. It gets snow every year and every so often you get a good year (like this one) with a lot of snow.
    • 2.5 Hours to the north east is Zion National Park. Absolutely stunning hiking, backpacking and canyoneering.
    • 2.5 Hours to the west is Death Valley National Park. The geology here is amazing. So much hiking, canyoneering and exploring to do here. From Badwater Basin at -282ft below sea level to Telescope Peak at 11,000ft, so much to do. Lots of history and backroads adventures in DV.
That's just a start, Vegas is so much more than the strip.

AK to a oven. Boy are you in for a surprise if you work on the line. Base housing is very new and big places. Buy a house? You should make a profit when you PCS in 3 years or so. Not crazy profits, but 20-30k.

Providence area is nice, and you can jump over to Nellis on the 215 relatively quick.

Aliante seems to be Little Nellis. Ok place to live but biggest pain in the ass if you might like to go to the strip/downtown or south end of the valley a lot. Centered between the 95 and 15 and fairly close to Nellis.

i guess that is helpful. you are supposed to break you truck and then learn to fix it by trial and error. its not as cheap but its more fun.

the fun part is at work I can just buy parts for vehicles with AF money....until you realize how expensive parts for your own truck are..then its not fun anymore
