If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. I have been searching the Internet for HOURS, trying to figure this out. I have a 1995 Tacoma, Reg Cab, 4X4, Factory 31x10.5 on 15x7 wheels. I want to get new wheels, I already bought new tires and I want to complete my set up. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the factory offset is on the wheels for my truck. Every new wheel I find that is 15x8 or 15x7 with the 6x 5.5 bolt pattern has a different offset listed. I need to know what I can directly replace my factory wheels with. Please, any info appreciated. Here's a picture of my current wheels I'm referring to. Thanks! image.jpg

Also, I wouldn't mind my wheels sticking out a little more, as long as it doesn't cause rubbing. Thank you

Ok sorry thought it would be in that thread... I found this on a wheel page..
    Toyota Vehicles

    1995.5-2004 Toyota Tacoma 6-Lug Model - 2wd & 4wd
Factory 16x8.0 Wheel Offset = +1.00 mm - Back Space = 4.54" Inches I believe the backspacing and offset is the same for the 15" oem wheel

I found this info, can anyone confirm it? And why the range in the offset?

Pull off a wheel and measure the offset. I will say it's screwy that wheel dimensions are mixed SAE and metric, it just makes it more confusing having to do conversions if you need to calculate.

    http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=101

So, measure from the mounting surface to the center of the wheel, and you'll have your current offset.

Backspacing is a variant of the same measurement. So for a given width wheel, if backspacing changes, offset changes. Meaning another way to measure (or shop) is to pick a wheel with the same backspacing measurement (assuming you stick with the same width wheel).

The 16" version of that wheel is 7" wide and +15 offset with 4.5" backspacing. I'll try and verify if the 15" is the same.

Edit: just verified, 15" is the same.

Awesome! Thank you all very much! I just didn't want to order new wheels and then have rubbing or something. What is a good offset/backspace that I can get to stick out a little further from the wheel wells? I'd like to add fender flares and it look good. Again, thanks everyone!

As for what you can replace them with, I suggest familiarizing yourself with offsets and backspacing, and how wheel width factors into those. Then play with an offset calculator and decide for yourself what will work, and what look you want.

What @BrettBretterson said^^^ also search through the build threads or forums for first gens and look at what other people are running and how it looks aesthetically to see if you like it.

Appreciate the advice. My current wheels are 15x7 and assuming what @BrettBretterson said the offset should be +15. So if I were to switch to 15x8 wheels what offset would I need to be the equivalent of a 15x7 with 4.5" backspace? If anyone knows the answer to that, I'd be grateful.
That said, sorry if I sound like a newb, I'm not, I always do my own work on my vehicles I just haven't done too many wheels before lol

I've got the TRD Sport wheels which are 17x7.5 and 5.5 backspacing with 1.5" spacers. This puts it at about 4 inch backspacing which sticks a little outside my stock fender flares. My tires are 265 or about 10.4 inches.
