For sure, Toyota and the county should provide me with a brand new truck and brand new roads everywhere because I can't drive.

Making retarded analogies isn't going to work here.

It all depends on the circumstances. If the road was shity for a long time because the city neglected it, yes, they should be held at least partially responsible. If they just got shitty from a bad freeze or snow storm, probably not so much.

Please define "retarded analogies" having to do with a thread involving the OP trying to warranty his truck after hitting a pothole on a public road with signage denoting said potholes and my own negligence of running off of a poorly maintained public road and totaling my truck.
I don't know man, lots of speculation and "if's" in your post. Bottom line he should suck it up and pay for the damages to his vehicle which were directly resultant of his driving. OP should suck it up, move along and quit trying to get someone else to pay for his mistake.

Well shit man, the city/state burns my ass every year for taxes. So yeah, I hold them accountable when they fuck up roads like I264 (for those of you living in Hampton Road area) and I have to drive on pot holes more often that asphalt.

My truck rolled out of my driveway hitting a mailbox and a telephone poll, $4,800 in damages (true story). I am going to sue the post office, telephone company, Toyota and my parents (for raising a dumbass that didn't put his ebrake on).

Apparently driving highway speeds down a "Caution Extreme Potholes Next 17 Miles" stretch of road is a current trend :D

Don't forget whomever graded your driveway, installed your mailbox and didn't put a sign up warning you of the sequence of events that could possibly (and did) occur.

Listen man, I'm trying to help a member out, sorry; If he was driving like an asshat he's liable to his actions and that's his problem. Yeah, there is a lot of speculation, Im just pointing out that the city/state is also liable for their inability to do their job.

I wonder if he could go after them personally as well. I mean it was their decision to vote on the zoning right? @23Skidoo , lots of money on the horizon for you. Fuck yeah, negligence!

Just because the OP does or doesn't know how warranties work or what they cover doesn't mean that he's trying to fleece anyone or that he's stupid. I took it as an honest question. It didn't deserve the attacks. It certainly wouldn't have been too hard just to say "hey dude, warranty might not cover that." Most of us are here to share experiences with Tacomas and get a few good ideas. No reason to flame someone who you think should know everything that you know.

I'm not necessarily defending the OP either. He might be a total dick. I'm just criticizing some of the trolling behavior.

I agree with helping a member out, but helping in this situation would be telling him to get his insurance to pay or paying out of pocket rather than assisting him in finding someone else to pay for it. I get where you are coming from with the maintenance argument as that is what road taxes are for. It just seems like the current climate of this thread would immediately jump to "they are doing road work to fix these potholes, I'm late for work and am suing for lost wages" kind of shit. Laughable.
