Thanks, I love it, it's a beautiful truck and fun as hell to drive, I picked it up as a Christmas present to myself, it rounds out my vehicle collection nicely, goes with my Suzuki SV650 motorcycle and Mercedes Benz 1972 350SL, it replaces a Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD that was nice but had just started dissolving around me, parts falling off as I drove down the road practically...

I live in The Northbay (SF bay area NorCal) but those pictures were taken up around Mt Shasta, I've already put nearly 1500 miles on the truck, about 300 of those on dirt roads

I got it used (2012 w/35k miles) and it came with 1 1/4" spacers up front and 1" block in back with 20" KMC XD Rockstars with 305/55/r20's that rubbed so I swapped for some 17" Moto Metals with a 275/70/r17 tire and dropped some speakers in cabinets in the back out of my old Ghetto Blaster that I pulled out of my Jeep, I'm definitely going to be modding the suspension more, I'm leaning OME 884's and 5100's with an AAL, maybe bumper up (886's then) , get some lights up there, you know, the standard fare, definitely going to drop a new stereo and amp in, and I'd be surprised if I couldn't manage to stuff about 15 speakers and a sub-woofer in, I managed to stuff 10 speakers 2 amps and a subwoofer in a 43 year old 2 seater Mercedes I've been restoring, this has a lot more nooks and crannies to work with :)

Bought myself a 2011 Toyota Prerunner SR5 with 47000 miles. What should be the first mod? I was thinking K&N cold air intake?

Nice-looking truck… The first thing I would do is Think about getting a lift on it, stuff bigger tires in there, maybe get some aftermarket rims

I have yet to hear anyone say anything positive about cold air intakes here. From what I understand it makes the engine sound a little throatier when you're taking off but it gets irritating driving down the freeway and adds 0 hp

This is wholly and entirety hearsay so absolutely take that with a grain of salt

I can second this info. Depending on what you want to do with the truck, Tires/Suspension would be my first go to for sure.

It's much more fun wheeling an older rig. I used to have an old Range Rover that I had as a toy. It was so fun. I would just plow through stuff and it didn't matter.

The funnest (and best) "4-wheeler" I have ever had was a Suzuki Sidekick with oversized tires on like 14" rims, two wheel drive, I lived 10 miles out a dirt road and the last mile was straight up a steep hill no 4-wheel drives could make it up as they were too heavy and my car would shoot right up, thing was a f***ing blast, little straight 4 with a 5 speed hauled buns and still got 35mpg

The best cold air intake for a Tacoma is the stock one. Save your money for another mod that is useful!

I can second this little dude! A buddy in high school had a 2 door tracker I think it was, and man did we ever go some crazy places in that piece of crap. I think the fact he didnt give a damn, it was small and light. and held it to the floor the whole time is the reasons we made it to the places we did. Some fun times I tell ya :D

Yeah I just got the truck and the mirror was on it. Weirdest thing but it actually works really well.
