12 GA pump with a pistol grip and 8 in the tube. Short enough to maneuver in tight spaces yet enough knockdown power to handle most anything that comes through your door.

There's only one way into the bedrooms, and that's up my stairs. Shooting down them goes directly into my back yard and is a safe back stop for any caliber since any bullet fired will go directly through a wall and into dirt.

I don't care too much to shoot someone who is downstairs in my silverware, and I can't get down my creaking stairs silently anyway, nor do I care to, but anyone coming into my home and has the need to come upstairs where the bedrooms are is an immediate threat.

My 870 is out of commission and is in a closet safe anyway, so it's pretty useless. In my bedside table I have a cocked and locked 1911 with 8 rds of 230 gr HydraShock.

I have a key pad safe with my 9 next to the bed but Id prefer to have my shotgun. Just less practical to store close to the bed and locked but easy access.

You don't need an ar15 for home defense.

If your only firearm is an ar-15, I'd take that over a blunt object even though it isn't needed.

I know you meant that sarcastically but for people who take that seriously and agree see the OP with the links.

Id like to use my ar15 for home defense with some hollow points but again. Hard to keep locked but easy access and close to the bed.

    What suppressor is that?
And what's the barrel length on the AR?

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    45-70

Kidding. (unless intruder is hiding in my refrigerator)

Depends where I'm at in the house. 12ga pump, 9mm, baseball bat, screwdriver, metal ruler, angry cat...

Anything can serve as a weapon when you need one.
