There's only the SR5 auto +TRD package and then you can select the upgrade package(sunroof, wireless charger, bsm)
msrp is $40500 or so plus taxes, freight and accessories

Premium and tech are US packages Confusing I know!

What I asked was not the upgrade package, so no sunroof, and I'm in B.C. so before GST+PST is $38,500 after tax OTD should be $43,120

Just a heads up but your cover will not work with the new Tacoma, they added 1.1" above the bed rails.

I use ProTruck for all my stuff. They buy direct from the manufacturer in most cases.

That's $1k less before tax than I was quoted from dealers here in the Lower Mainland. Is it difficult to buy a vehicle in Alberta and bring it to BC? Are there any additional fees involved beyond PST?

You'll have to get it inspected to ensure it meets BC standards. That's $150 (depending on where you get it from) and your time.

    http://www.icbc.com/vehicle-registration/buy-vehicle/Pages/Registering-a-vehicle-in-B-C-.aspx

You do have to pay the PST when insuring as well, so you can't finance it (not saying you'll have to I don't know how you're buying).

Not on a new vehicle. What you do is pick up the truck and you get an "In Trasit" Sticker from Alberta registries. The first time you will register the vehicle will be in BC so there is no need to get an inspection. If you purchase a Demo model or a Used vehicle though you need to have it inspected first before registration.

Has anyone done this recently? It sounds like there are times when the inspection could be waived.

*Under the New West Partnership Trade Agreement (effective April 1, 2015), qualified private vehicles imported from Alberta or Saskatchewan may be exempt from the BC pre-registration safety inspection. Please ask your Autoplan broker for details.

I'm in Kamloops BC and working on with Mike now. For me, it's worth to pay the flight, gas and time.
You need to buy a temporary insurance from ICBC first, then go to Edmonton, get the transit permit from Alberta transportation, pick up the truck and bring it to BC and go to autoplan broker and register.
Only thing in your case, you need a winter tire to take the highway on the way back. If you will buy winter tires anyways, probably Edmonton is better place since you can save PST and probably less price due to demand. If you don't need them because you living in lower mainland, then you will take a risk of get fined and accident risk depends on the highway condition.

I thought once you return, you will be forced to pay the pst? I may be wrong, but for some reason, thought I heard this.

I have to pay PST for the truck, but not tires I believe. That's what I meant.
