Yea, 300blk is supposed to mimic 7.62x39 (and 30-30) performance with same weight loads but be more AR friendly (300blk brass is just reformed 5.56 so it uses standard AR mags)

Yeah, I've always kinda liked the 30-30 and 7.62 rounds. A lot of deer-sized game have been taken with them 30-30 "cahtridges".

First off thank you for your service.
Also I have to agree on what you said.

    You plan on using birdshot?
As stated previously in the thread (Which you can research and prove true) any type of common buckshot will penetrate about the same as 9mm, you also have the spread and multiple pellets to increase the odds of a stray shot wounding someone outside the home.

I'm very tempted to have my 30-30 threaded for a suppressor, I love the round and it would only be better suppressed.

I like a can as much as anybody. That having been said, you still have to deal with that crack, don't you. Still better than nothing though.

I also have a turkey choke on my 20ga so the birdshot stays in a tight pattern so it acts similar to a slug.

Yeah, but it's a lot more hearing safe when out hunting.

Help me out here, taczilla. Crease? I suspect crease is a hockey term. I love hockey more than 99.999999% of the folks south of Sohio, but, please forgive my ignorance, what's a crease?

The crease is the red lined (and sometimes also blue painted) area around the front of the net. It's goalie territory and the no-go zone.

It is defended something like your house, when one is not invited in.

South Park is conceptualized and written by Canadians.

Not my battle but as I said earlier I use #9 shot in the chamber and first round in the mag. #6 shot is pretty large, in fact you can not use it on any shotgun clays venue that I know of because of the energy and range. Check out the penetration of 1200 fps #9 shot.

According to my reloading manuals from the 70's and Brownells ballistic books from then the 30-30 has accounted for more vension than any other round. But it was due to Americans love affair with lever action rifles up to that time. I suspect that has changed a lot since then as more have moved to black synthetic guns. The 30-30 wouldn't be my round of choice for self defense, then again at the normal range it would be used would work as well as any others mentioned.

Oh, I was just talking about using a suppressed 30-30 for hunting (Legal in my state)
