**OHIO WHEELIN' & MEET-UP THREAD**

That'd be cool. If you know a good area for us to meet up, and camp (for those who want to be in the cold) post a link or address

 

I didn't know this, but the state campgrounds are closed until March 31st. Koomer Ridge is open. It is the National forest campground. It has pit toilets. Winter rates ar $10 a site, $8 for additional cars. There are several private campgrounds there as well that are chill, but their websites don't give any indication whether they are open or not. I can make some calls tomorrow and find out. Koomer Ridge is nice though. It is first come first serve, that being said unless there is something big going on that weekend I don't think it will be busy.

 

Got my truck back. 3 new windows and some body work.

 

They don't list an actual address, but there is gps coordinates. Here is a pdf.

How far away is koomer ridge from a good amount of RRG?

 

The scenic byway is free all year round. Anything good for us there?

 

Koomer Ridge looks tiny. If it's like the places I've been to, I don't think more than two vehicles per site will fit.

 

How many people/cars are actually camping?

 

If Greg camps, then I think four so far? I have to assume Gavin will be and I know Mark will be in the back of the 4Runner

 

The scenic byway is not a campground, its a road. Koomer will be fine. There are other private campgrounds we could definitely check out as well. They are all fine.

 

Doesn't matter to me. Koomer is just down the road from that railroad place you suggested. As long as we can fit everyone in at least two spots we should be good

 

Is Koomer at the end of the dead end road that runs over top of the Nada Tunnel?

There's tons of spaces in the DBNF along the Red River.

Also not sure about the meeting up at a rest area. Some guys might really stretch a meeting window for hours - I personally don't want to sit around for 5 hours waiting on dudes at a rest area. A meet at the actual camping destination makes more sense, then you can just roll in whenever as long as its before the departure in the am.
