They were on the plans thats the problem, not sure how so many things can be missed. It was all fixed but should of never happened in the first place. For all that they threw in an upgrade by taking out a wall going to basement and put railing so you can see downstairs basement making floor plan seem more open.

If its on the plans there should be reason for it to be wrong . I mean drawn as part of the plans not handwritten notes on one set of the plans .

Looks nice . That style of railing doesn't meet our code here so unfortunately we can't use it

We did a lot of upgrades that they are not use to in that community, I gave them slack but still expressed my concern and the fact i had to check on them everyday was kinda frustrating at times.

Weird , cause when you're framing a house you usually frame openings to what it says on the plans and not just make something up

Thanks guys, I'm still up in the air with the stainless steel socket panels instead of the white.

Railing are not compliant if they are " climbable "

ie the pickets can't be horizontal

Is it a subdivision with a standard plan they frame all the time ?

There are about 10 models you can choose from and from within those models you can change things like extensions of walls to add square footage or raised ceilings or added rooms if your lot allows for it. things like that, i added about 300 square feet with all extensions i added to kitchen master room and unfinished basement. You can even add 9ft walls to basement and upper floors but I only did main and added a loft upstairs kinda like a living room.

damn that sucks, that was one of my concerns. they had appliances installed and 4 days later they put locks on the doors, I couldn't believe they risked it but luckily nothing happened that I knew of. My house is finishing 2 weeks early so thats a plus even with all the errors.

Same here in Massachusetts, the baulistrade cannot be a 'Ladder effect' type.... unless the drop is less than 28" from the ground/floor, otherwise you can have any crazy design you want.

5 or 6 years ago, a code change happened here... For decades, all swimming pools must have a fence around it. Now, if you require a fence (chain link style), the diamond openings of the chain link fence have to be smaller than the standard of years past.... so you can't climb it by sticking your shoe's toe in it to climb.

I forget the size fence link required to enclose a swimming pool.

Ok, framing, sheeting, roof all on. Ill post pics of questionable work sometime tonight or tomorrow when i get time.

Immediate question, walking through the other day and noticed a few pieces of chewed up wood that are spray painted in bright red "FLIP + COVER"??? Assuming theyre being lazy and trying to hide defects in 2x4s instead of replacing them?
