Hell I just bring a cheap Harbor Freight pancake compressor I got for 50 bucks that I can plug into the bed 110V outlet. It's not the most compact or fastest but until I can get a CO2 setup it's better than nothing for airing back up. [IMG]
And as far as using CO2 for air tools I can only imagine doing that as an emergency trail fix type of deal, I don't think anyone would want to have that be their main air source for air tools as a common practice so I don't know how that minimal use would damage the tools too much.

I really really thought about picking up a cheap pancake compressor from home dept and using my inverter. I just couldn't figure out how many watts it draws.

Who needs air tools when you have this. Bought this 1/2 cordless in 08 and it saved me tons of time on the trail.

I calculated it out to be around 350-360 watts if I remember right and the stock one is rated up to 400 so it is pushing it a little but it works just fine, albeit slowly. I usually just let it build up to about 90PSI and then fill until it drops to 40 then let it spend another 3-4 minutes building back up and do it over again, takes a couple of those per tire to get it to a decent pressure but I just got one of the clip on chucks so I want to try it and see how is does if I just clip it on and let it run.

You will wreck your inverter. The thing draws a ton of amperage. Buy viair or arb or purge your ac pump and use it as a compressor.
