don't know about exact production models/dates. Dealer just explained others have this same problem and 10 other people (across the country) are "in line in front of me" to have this job done...so I have to wait another week or two to get the parts in my dealership...then I can have this warranty service done. In the mean time, they said continue driving the truck, its safe, and they will call me when parts come in. Warning signs before granaded?..not sure what your asking.

Small problem with stereo. I keep losing my sound settings on XM. It keeps setting bass, mid and treble to the middle.

I'm at 3000 miles in three weeks of ownership, AC OR 4x4. Only issue I've had is what you and a select few are experiencing. I thought I'd get lucky and it was the howling noise so I plugged the control arms...and yet it still makes the noise you've described at those speeds. I really notice it 55-64mph on decel. Can barely hear it if you put your head near the dash but in normal driving position I can hear it over the radio with volume at 45. To be honest it's driving me crazy but am waiting for the 5k service as I'm in pagosa springs (nearest dealer over an hour). So glad I came across what you are experiencing so I can reference at the dealer.

On a side note my tranny and mpg have greatly improved as the truck is learning my driving and I've stayed off the freeways. Crazy, way better mpg on rural highway and small town mountain driving. Works for me.

I had my concerns about this new 6 speed auto. The old 5 speed auto was tried and truly reliable. But thats growing pains

Shit man. Sorry about that experience. That sucks!

PS: NO such thing as 'excessive' power. That's just power you aren't used to using yet ;)

I couldn't be happier w my truck. I will say this about the V6 Auto configuration, coming off my Tundra V8 to this was a bit of an adjustment in throttle control. The V6 acts a little like a "turbo engine" in that it will lag if you just drive it like you have an egg between your foot and the pedal. It may be me, but I feel like I need to be more aggressive when rolling back into the gas to keep the smooth momentum. Again, I'm not complaining, just noting some thoughts. I also knew going in that early buyers (late October ) would be "beta" to a point.

Replaced the passenger side leaf spring. The service advisor didn't say much. Said maybe it was the pads between the springs rubbing that was making the noise. Not really sure what the issue was but the truck rides and sounds perfect again.

Man, that's rough for the mileage. I'm in DFW driving from North Fort Worth to Arlington and back during rush hour most days and I'll get 20-22 mpg highway. I have a DCSB OR 4x4 so it's as heavy as they come. If I stick to the city streets I'll usually come in 17-19 haven't seen much of 16..

It's definitely not you, this truck requires generous amounts of throttle input to be smooth and responsive. I'm not sure I'd compare it to a turbo, though, as a turbo will keep you happy as long as you're above its spool-up RPM. With this truck and the auto transmission you either hand-manage the gears, or you have to mash the throttle to make it realize what you want. I also don't have complaints, though, it's a fine machine and does what intended.

Hey I had a Colorado and it was a good truck to me. Though I will say I like how much I can customize a Tacoma

A 2015 Colorado? Mine was. If the door seals would not of leaked, I would still be driving it. I could of overlooked all the cheap plastic in it and the shoddy install of the black vinyl flooring.

When Im shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear she feels a bit un-precise/ or for lack of better term un-snyched... every other gear is smooth and has accurate shift engagements.

I drove a a few cars with similar "feeling" during a shift, but it was only when going into Reverse, so I just double pumped the clutch to remesh and it went in smooth.
Common occurrence going from drive to reverse for transmissions-but I thought it was a bit odd from 2nd to 3rd.... anyone have similar?

I have around 7k on my truck and my door weatherstripping is coming off on the passenger side, at first there was a weird issue where the passenger door wouldn't shut right, now the weatherstripping issues. Also, the auto transmission seems a little odd. It feels like it wants to lurch forward when I give it gas and then jumps to 4th gear. I have to throw it in manual mode if I'm in any kind of stop and go traffic or driving under 20 mph for any period of time.

I can deal with the weatherstripping, I'll have to wait and see on the transmission. Other than that, I love the truck.

Other issues were due to shoddy work by the dealer putting the clear bra on (didn't clean truck, bugs under bra, and water spots). They also ran the truck through auto butler and scratched the plastic fenders and stained them with the wax.

Try some WD 40 on the fenders to help remove / polish out the wax. Worked for me for similar staining on my front grill insert on 2nd Gen
