I did this! Installed the 2 rings closest to the cab. I had bought them a while ago but was dreading having to grind the washer so the d-ring could fit underneath the washer so I put it off for a long time. Then I saw this thread and realized you can put them on top of the washer and not have to grind anything. DUH!!!!!!

Anyway was done really fast. Longest part was waiting for the paint to dry. One bolt was kind of frozen and rusted, needed a pipe over the ratchet to get it loose.

Excited to use the rings. I need something to haul

I didn't add washers. So I put down the existing washer, then the d-ring, then the bolt through. Super easy. Its also a good time to sand, clean up rust, and then paint all parts.

just installed these and I'm bit concerned.

The Toyota brand D-Ring anchors come shipped with a plastic spacer that allows the D-Ring to rotate freely after being torqued down. (i'm not talking about the plastic washer used for shipping).

After studying the design closely, the bolts that ship with the D-Ring anchor kit have a space a the top of bolt that appears to be intended for the plastic spacer to race around.

The OEM bed bolts do not have the same space to allow for the spacer to race around (spin). Therefore when you torque down the bed bolt's **(35lbs on 3rd Gen) you are essentially compressing this plastic spacer. Call me paranoid, but I feel this could cause the bed bolt to come loose. Has anyone on here experience any issues with the Toyota brand D-Rings?

** as I was torquing down the bed bolts, I found that they were all torqued down to about 35lbs. And I found issue with torquing further with the plastic spacer on the D-Ring bracket.

Also, I ended up re-using the oem washers since they were still fairly new. did not go the dremel route, just used the socket method mentioned earlier in this thread.

Aside from my concern, I'm happy with this mod.

Just keep throwin' money at it.
Stopped by my local Dodge dealer last night in Kirkland, WA, they wanted $13 a piece for the Dodge rings! Looks like I am going to go another route. I cannot find them on the Mopar parts site anyone have a good link for a set of them?
