I'm thinking it's going to look pretty slick with the matte black finish and color backplate. There some depth in the grille from the pics so it should pop nicely.

I'm sure there are those that are curious, but will the first batch of orders be the lowest price ever offered for the grill? Even with monthly/TW member discounts later on.

i think its going to look sick with the color matched backing. itll break up large black grille perfectly and show the nice depth in the design.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Yes this will be the lowest price you will ever get this grille for. The daily deal will be a little more but on sale a few times a month. Depending on demand we are going to try and keep them in stock after the first batch is all complete.

Looks fantastic Jerry, thanks for the work and keeping us updated. Few questions if you get a chance in the next couple of days?

Could you give us the measurements of the two red lines and the depth of that slot if the letters were cut out?
Do you think that would hurt the structural integrity as far as a light bar mount (assuming no but figured better to ask)?
What would your opinion be of the stability (bounce) of the whole thing with a light bar mounted in the center? The grill looks completely solid but I haven't looked at my truck to see how much plastic will be holding the whole thing up yet.

I read through the thread and didn't see this asked. Is there any way you could match the font (since it's CNC) from the tailgate so it's the same? Great work by the way, looks amazing.

Is the color back plate just behind the letters or is it the entire area including the mesh type back...

I'm not totally sure how well as light would work mounted on the grille itself maybe a small pod but a long bar would add quite a bit of weight.

No that is not available at the moment.

It's just a strip that attaches behind the letters that would make the letters pop.

You mean: "Black powder coated mounting bolts"?

    ----

@JLee will the non powder coated mounting bolts rust?

I had the same question. I matched the font to the "TACOMA" stamped on the tailgate, hoping I could throw it on the grille. Any idea when this will be an option? It won't be for the first round of grilles?

    Thanks for the info.

It's probably driving you nuts with all these questions, but does the base grill come with the insert piece unpainted or powdercoated black?

Or do you only get the piece if you color match?

Was thinking I might play around with colors, but wasn't sure if you had to order it with the color match that to get the piece.

LOL. How about the back side of the plate in black and the front color so we can flip it? PLEASE!

It may be an option down the road but at the moment it's not the center section is removable so it can be swapped out later down the road.

With the base price you will get a black panel behind the letters color matching is just that the part is included with the grille the only bare metal would be the Stainless hardware if you don't choose to have them coated.

So with powder coat this statically charged the powder has a positive charge and the part is grounded. When we spray the powder it will get pulled to the back side of the part as well so the only was to do that would be masking one side and 2 tone masking doesn't go over well as you have to bake a coating that has high heat tape on it with a gloss finish it almost never turns out perfect. If you wanted 2 tone the simplest way would be rattle can over the back side they you can flip it but we are not going to offer both on a single panel.

Do you have any pictures of this grill on a vehicle? I have a white 2016 and I am thinking of doing a black grill with white letters but i'm not sure if that will look good.
