    I have no idea what's wrong with it. And working in the snow isn't my idea of fun, I'll eventually have it looked at. All I know is that when I push the button for 4WD, the light comes on and it thinks I'm in 4WD, but there's no front wheel spin.

    I would say that anything welded properly will be better then anything plug and play. I don't see this being a bad idea as far as quality goes. Maybe a bad idea on being able to just unplug it

    I had this happen to me. The front actuator was filled with water when the breather tube came off the box. There is a thread on how to check and fix this. Mine wasn't fixable and I ended up buying a new one. It's not that difficult of a job to check it out if you suspect that's it. That's my guess. Basically the connections that electronically actuate the solenoid get corrosion on them and won't make contact

Then plan a couple days in the garage to get that wrapped up......Then see how much $$$$ is left, order sliders if I can, wait for them (4 week lead time) , paint, install.....Show up @ LBL with wet paint.......If ALL goes by plan.
