Just got the Spyderco Tenacious. The build quality seems good and blade is sharp. Fits in my hand well. I just wish it wasn't made in China.

Pro tip: don't ever try and take it apart.

Guaranteed you'll strip half of the hardware. Spyderco normally sends replacements for free but mail takes time. If the grip scales ever feel loose, be very careful tightening things - and it's best to have new hardware in the mail already just in case.

Yep I won't try. I'll just send it in to them or like you said get replacement parts. The grip feels nice in my hand also. When do you think I should order the sharpening kit?

It'll be ready for touching up whenever you use it for the first time.

I see that I can change the clip with screws. That's a nice feature

Been carrying this for a few years now. Spyderco makes a great knife. I just got the spyderco triangle sharpener for Christmas and it seems to work well.

Had a Kershaw Blur Tanto and Camillus Beast before this. Still think the Kershaw Blur is a great knife but I love the feel of the Spyderco and how thin it is in my pocket

@DCSBFTMFW thoughts on my posting about the edge pro diamond stones? or another stone that will work with the edge pro system? I'm looking for something that is only an inch wide to do the small blades. My DMT credit card stones won't do everything.

Great looking first knife. It'll be your "gateway" knife to better ones in the future.

Nice Cryo. I gotz the Cryo II. I little bigger than the Cryo, but not too big. I like that it is all steel, has great jimping, and is easy to sharpen (although does dull fairly quickly)

Thanks :) I am really liking it so far. Should I break it in by opening and closing it a lot? And so far I want a Blur and maybe awhile later a PM2.

I don't have much knowledge on those types of systems. I almost bought a Wicked Edge a few years back and am glad I didn't, I ended up giving away all but 6 knives or so - my main user is the F1 and is fully convex, so all I ever do with it is a stropping with green and black compound. Stays razor sharp.

I have 2 scandi ground fixed blades and those are both handled by a Fallkniven DC4 pocket stone.

My BK14 and other similarly ground blades I don't use much because my sharpening skills aren't as good as I'd like, and I don't really have too much knife need to justify using them for giggles. I probably use a knife twice a month.

Love my Leek but hate the pocket clip. Almost a quarter of the knife sticks up when I clip it in my pants. Super shard and light though. I'm almost always carrying it around the house with my sweatpants or pajama pants because it's so lightweight.

Only complaint I have with a Leek is the fragile tip. I know it's days are numbered.

Agree with DCSB. Just use it. It's not really one of their "flip open fast" models. I have the PM2 and Sage 2 and I still just open them slowly with my thumb. I only flick open my BM mini grip.

Trust me. If you get a Benchmade that "flicks" open. Hopefully you're single or your friend are cool with it because it's addicting. My wife hates it and I guess it's not really acceptable in public to flick it open and shut over and over. Ridiculously addicting.

Doesn't the Blur kind of flick open also?

To me, that is a huge downfall of the Leek.
