I sat in Toyota of Escondido's office for 6 Hours, dealing with them, and they would only budge $500 off MSRP. Kiss my A$$. Go to Freeman Toyota in Northern California, and be done with the B.S. Southern California Dealerships. That E-Mail is a joke, by the way.

@usadaytrader Nope, I am still standing myself, included. Just got back from Maui, and they are charging a $3,000 Premium over MSRP on the Tacoma's there, since there is only (1) Dealership. They have a agreement with CA Dealers to not sell to Hawaii residents, since that would be the cheaper route, even with shipping in @ $1200 from CA.... Anyways I am not budging, and think its foolish to pay the MSRP, knowing there is still a large profit being sold @ invoice. People have no self control, and it shows. I guess @usadaytrader, we will wait for a market correction in the economy to swoop up on deal. Until then, lets drive our reliable Toyota trucks and be content.

We went with 500 under MSRP in early December. We sold my car before it broke and were down to one car. I've had the truck for almost 2 months and prices are not forseen to drop anytime soon. I'm glad I have it and have already made a few payments on it.

I'm the cheapest person I know but I wasn't planning on waiting a year to save 2000 bucks

All the local dealerships are still saying the same bs "this truck is really hard to get right now" and "we are selling them in 1 day at msrp"

I've always had good luck with Toyota El Cajon. Bought many from them. Just got a DCLB sport, jbl, etc for $500 over invoice. Love it. You may not get that same deal but I know they will deal on trucks sitting on the lot. Plus they get a ton of them. pm me if you want the name of my salesman. Good guy.

I've bought three new cars from them in the last 10 years and they wouldn't budge from MSRP. Told them I would put deposit and order, wouldn't take from their inventory. They weren't even nice about it. I had great experience previously but took my business elsewhere this time. They lost a sale over less than 1k from what would have still been a very profitable deal for them.

Dang, that's awful. Yep, it all depends on who you talk to. I'd take my business elsewhere too. The fact is, getting any deal on these is typically not easy. It's hard to find someone you feel is being honest and fair these days.

Northern CA, Stevens Creek Toyota tried to sell me a 3200 mile demo for 2000 off MSRP! Lol

Got a new truck at Sunnyvale Toyota for 700 under MSRP and was in and out in 2 hours. From start to finish, only delt with one guy (stan w.) Fantastic buying experience!

    Regarding Stevens Creek:

Honestly, I don't mind buying the demo since it was EXACTLY the truck I wanted. I just wanted a fair price for both of us since it is technically a used car sold as new.

Their first 'offer' for the demo was a whopping $600 bucks off MSRP. I kinda laughed at that and said you need to do about 4K off to make it happen. He went back and forth with the sales manager a few times and came back at 2K off. If I wanted a brand spaking new one, they are sold at MSRP, so and they were pretty firm on their stance. I just didn't like them at all, so I left to go home and do some research.

Sent many emails, and did the truecar, AAA, etc.. All dealers came back at MSRP, truecar came back with 3 dealers, 1 was 500 below, and the other two ABOVE MSRP!

I did find a close enough truck for 1800 under MSRP (DCLBTRDSport4x2 with premium and tech) at another dealer, but confirmed that the truck had been in their lot for 75 days! Not sure why it wasn't sold, but I didn't really want LB anyways.

Sunnyvale had what I wanted, and said 500 under right off the bat. I negotiated 200 bucks haha, and took the truck home and be done with it. I spent a few hours here and there, and honestly i'm just over it. I just wanted the truck and not nickel and dime every thing. Cool thing is my truck was built just a few weeks ago. I guess that's better than buying a truck that had been in a lot for 75 days.
