Just to add to the part about growing/fading. I have LED light bars in my bed tied to the dome light, which fades in and out in my 09 taco, and they do seem to fade in and out properly, pretty cool effect.

So ultimately look into wiring into the dome light to get the fading effect.

I believe there are some details on the forum about splicing into the dome light here somewhere but I'll have to find the link later.

I wish I could get a picture of my door handle led

Used an orange led and put it in the bottom of the door handle well, then wired it to the windows. So now whenever the car is on the door handles are lit up. It comes in handy a lot for friends who don't know where the door handles are at night.

and they stay on when the car is turned off cuz the windows still have power.

So if you like the idea of useful lighting in the cab of your truck, then there is another idea for ya:cool:

Thats a pretty cool idea, i would be worried about the tapping the constant power and having these lights on all the time. Even with LEDs that do not draw much voltage at all i could still see myself jumping my truck after a two week vacation.

^^ you don't have to worry about that. you know how when you turn the car off, the windows still work for like a minute or until you open the door? well thats when the lights stay on. once you open the door or let it sit they turn off with the windows.

I should have explained that better in my 1st post:eek:

Where did you find the switch? I need one to energize a relay that charges my camper battery.

I forgot to add some of these pictures earlier when I said I would.
Edit I realized the first one might be good for the Underground, you can't really see anything though... The lights look good under the CB almost like it is orange on the back too. I have Leds in the bed too :)

^ It came in there when I bought the truck, so i am not really sure where you would get one. I bet trdparts4u.com might have them or just go to a dealer with a good parts department and they probably are not too much to pick up. That net is very handy you should get one imo.

I know I am behind the group a little :D anyway when putting power to the switch and the LED where did you splice into to get the power to run them. Also did you put the fuse (I assume an inline fuse) in between the power supply and the switch or from the switch to the LEDs? Thanks

^well if you read my op then you would know that I used an ATO mini add a circuit/fuse for my power. Since LEDs draw very little power you can take it from an unused slot in your fuse box(unless you already used it for something) so to answer your question, yes they are on a fuse.
