Many good resorts in Tahoe especially with this El Niño season. I live in the Bay Area which is 4 hours away but my suggestions are squaw valley (they held the 1960 Olympic). Heavenly and kirkwood. I prefer the smaller resorts for $$$ purposes and the home feel (my parents owned a house in Tahoe so I spent a lot of my childhood winters there). Anyways the smaller resorts I recommend are Sierra at Tahoe(south Lake Tahoe), alpine meadows (north shore), and currently my favorite with the best view of all Lake Tahoe is Homewood ski resort. (Pictures above)

Looks like a great place to ski. Is that PBR beer in the top photo? My Dad would be proud!
If I can rent a decent 4x4 I'll head out to the small places; if not I'll probably try Heavenly.

This year was Vegas again. I had a good time, but the quick elevation change gave my altitude sickness. Still managed to get some Go-Pro footage

That most definitely is some pabst. They got a helluva deal at the bar right by where that picture is taken. A 22oz of pbr and a shot of jack, or fireball for 5 bucks. Merry Christmas!

I may not be skiing there, but I know where to drink. So, 22oz beer and a shot for $5? This is could be bad, very very bad.
Many thanks for the suggestion. I'll be sure to check it out if the roads are open. The last time I was out there, that entire side of the lake was shutdown.

From earlier this month.. Alyeska has the most snow of any resort in the entire US and possibly the world currently. Sitting at 460" on the season, with 14' of that falling in the month of January alone.. :D

I am very sad to say, but I Do not think I will be getting to go snowboarding this year. I had a trip planned to go to Killington VT with my family. I was going to get my 5 yr old duaghter and 8yr old son to learn this year. I usually spend a week in UT with some friends of mine, but now I do t think I am going anywhere this year. It's a bummer.

I see that they are selling them again. Would be fun to stash in the truck for those nice little meadows that you sometimes see.
