Love my Runner - its just an SR5 too. Not a lot of Trail Editions around here, everyone just gets the base, maybe a few limited. Doubt most folks wouldn't even know what to do with a Trail

Moving up to Runner from my Taco was an adventure in itself - Taco was no frills, no auto anything. So much computerized crap in newer vehicles.... :goingcrazy:
My impression when I was "learning" how to drive Runner....

Any disadvantage to a 3rd row seat? I'm thinking of adding that option. Seems like it might be nice to be able to carry 7 people if I needed to

I don't care if they are comfortable people. My motto for my current truck has been "if you are going to complain, drive yourself." Since I have the acccesscab and the rear is for midgets and small children.

Yeah. all the seats fold down and have a good amount of space though. I'm gonna go look at the dealer again.

Yeah you're probably right. Recovery gear is going in rotopax and the hi lift is mounting to whatever rear bumper I get!

Exactly why I don't like bumper mounted hi lifts, especially in CO.

I would still worry about condensation getting trapped in there and causing even more damage. If I lived back in SoCal I wouldn't worry as much, in Phoenix I still would. There is a lot of fine grit that gets in everything. I see hood and roof mounted and non covered hi lifts all the time in CO. Not sure if they are ever used though.

Why? They don'e use salt on the roads, and it doesn't rain that much...

If you only had the hi lift outside when you were going off road you should be fine with it outside. Make sure it is greased up, being outside every now and then isnt a bad thing...

Everything on my 4Runner is covered in dirt and whatever they put on the roads for snow. All that stuff will get into the small parts of the hi-lift. Plus it being exposed to freezing rain/snow can't be good for it either. If it was only attached when going trail ridding it wouldn't be a big deal. Most people mount theirs all the time though.

Right, but you dont have to take your hi lift to work and the grocery store every day... lol

I know, just saying most people attach theirs all the time. Not sure exactly where I am going to mount mine yet.

I could bring it back to stock, it's just a lot of work for a full time student without a garage. Also kinda depressing if I put all that work in just to take it off. I love this truck. I hate having emotional attachment to objects...

I get what you are saying, it is also hard to sell a modded vehicle. But the right person will come and buy it
