Hi. I'm having an issue when I turn right while braking, especially when going over a bump. It happens several times a week on a very particular right turn, that I take between 5 and 10 mph. Today I nearly missed a turn due to a bad copilot, and as I braked from around 20mph and cut hard to make the turn I heard what sounded more like a tire rubbing than metal grinding, but I definitely felt it too.

Is this possibly a wheel bearing? I'm taking the truck in to Toyota tomorrow for my 25k service even though I'm a little early, since I'm leaving Monday for an estimated 8000 mile road trip. I don't want to blow a hub on the White Rim trail or even worse the Old Mojave road in the winter.

Could be the vsc kicking in. Did the steering wheel shutter a bit?

Nah it's definitely not VSC/ABS noises.

    Yes
If you have larger tires on your truck it is extremely common that the front right tire rubs worse than the front left tire. These trucks are no symmetrical at all. When you are turning right that is when the front right tire would rub the cab mount and mud flaps and everything else in the wheel well. A tire hitting some of those plastic bits can make some gnarly noises.

I'm running stock tires still. Not sure about the OP. I just installed kings and tc UCA's so I'm not sure if my 2.25 lift is the reason for the weird rubbing/groaning noise I hear when I turn at slow speeds

I just bought a lifted 15 and notice this noise when turning right into drive ways sometimes.I never noticed this on my 06 but that one was never lifted. I believe it's just rubbing a bit but it does sound awful though.

It was definitely the tire rubbing the mud flap/cab mount. I'm running Cooper Discoverer ATP tires at 265/75r16, with about 32,000 miles on them. It got worse after my last alignment at the dealership when they "corrected" my caster. I'm looking into adjustable UCAs so I can get rid of this problem when I get my next set of tires and go from a 1.6" lift to 2.5"

I have a similar issue, but for me it's on LEFT turns and it's when I hit them 35-40 MPH. It does not rub, feel more like a GRIND. The steering wants to come back right and the brake pedal wants to come up too. It's like it's fighting you.

Any thoughts, suggestions here? thank you!
