Interested in mounting a lock box for storing my carry piece for when it's not permitted to be carried. I understand there is currently a rear underseat box in development, but am wondering if a slide out option under the front would work? Not necessarily interested in rapid deployment (as it'd be carried on person in vehicle), but it would be super convenient to have a biometric slide out lockbox.

These are with my G27, a full size will easily fit as well though. They can be tucked under the seat a little so you don't even see it while sitting.

You can either push it down into it so it's hidden...

    20160129_104825.jpg

Or you can have it poking out a little making it easier to grab...

I find the positioning of it is great, plus it can hold 2 on each seat or doubles as a pouch for cell phones, keys, etc alongside your firearm

Personally I never leave a loaded firearm in the car, although I am not against it if the right precautions are taken. I really like the under the seat lock-up deals and the locking consoles.

If I am going somewhere where I do not want to or cannot carry, I pop the magazine out, put it in my pocket and leave the unloaded gun in the console. I really would like one that locks though. It just makes good sense.

I also never take my gun out of the holster. I remove the holster, gun and all (I use IWB) and pop the mag out without removing the gun. Hosltering and reholstering are the times where accidental discharges are most likely to occur, so I like to keep that to a minimum.

Let us know what you get.

Below the parking brake on the side of the center console. Mounted the cant to my liking so it sits between my right leg and the center console.

So you never carry with one in the pipe? I guess I'm the opposite. Always 6+1 in my Glock 43 or Kahr CM9. I use Blackhawk Sherpa CQC for OWB, and the Galco STO460B for IWB. Both holsters provide ample trigger coverage a promote correct muscle memory.

No, I usually don't carry with one in the chamber. Do I think its a good idea? Yes I do, but I just am not there yet. Once I get more comfortable with it, I hopefully will do it more and more.

If your gun isn't loaded with one in the chamber, it's not loaded. Carry +1.

Finally got my highway holster set up a few weeks ago and figured I would post a few pics. I posted the link to the Highway Holster mount bar on the first page of this thread, and I used a Galco Triton Holster on it. I had to trim the holster clip just a bit with a Dremel tool to get it to fit on the mount bar, but you could just as easily trim the bar before mounting it in the truck. That is a Springfield XD40sc in the holster. I am still considering getting a different holster just to be able to adjust the cant back towards me a bit, but it works fine as is. If you walk up beside the truck, you will never see it past my legs unless I decide to pull it out. I have a lock box that I use for storage when I can't carry wherever I am going.

On my second gen, I took a square foot of ABS and cut it to fit in the wall of the center console, mounted up with some double sided tape. Then I mounted a Blackhawk holster to it. Worked SO well.
