I'm trying to do a main post with specs/parts. Kinda like my Tacoma one. 2nd post with plans, 3rd post with trip reports. Next 50 pages of total BS.

You guys just reminded me I need to update both of mine. The Firebird's is horribly out of date I believe. But hey while everyone's doing it.... Links are in my signature ;)

@MattJakobs Dude...I can't believe you put your rig in saltwater...to save a J**p?!? I know we have to rescue those guys all the time...but in salt water???? Buddy, that's just nuts??? I've heard saltwater is the worst of the worst. Hopefully you got her all rinsed down enough and she doesn't start rusting and/or giving you electrical problems. Wow...?!?!

    Build Thread:
That something I've never done...is make a build thread, for any of my vehicles. One reason, I'm not really sure how/where to do one. Then also I'm just not sure how to start one since I've done so much already...may be my next rig. Although, I feel like a major slouch...heck @SixthSnail is doing one for a 4Runner he doesn't even own yet...haha!! Don't get me wrong...I think it's frik'in awesome. The more I think about it, I really wish I would have gotten someone to help me and did one when I started making my mods. Another reason, I never had any intentions to do any mods. Actually when I bought my 4Runner...I was only going to keep her for 8 months to a year. But I ended up liking (loving) her so much, I kept her and went crazy with the mods.

It would be really neat to look back and be able to see all your hard work you did it...and when you did them. Although, a bad part of having a build thread might be...being reminded of all the money you spent...hahaha!! Positive: I think it would be a huge help when you went to sale your rig. Like @SixthSnail he's able to give prospective buyers a link to his build; therefore, they can read all about your rig and actually see (the pictures) what has been done, and also see that it was done correctly!! Way cool!

I know, I know but the Jeep was one of my best friends who I've been friends with for years and years so I couldn't just let him sit. I was already doused in salt water before this so I figured what the heck. I cleaned the underbody for about 20 minutes and plan on doing some more tomorrow. I've got about 400 miles since flooding and so far so good, just worried about the insides of the frame rails

Awesome...congrats! If it wasn't grey, I might had seriously looked at it. No disrespect, but that's my least favorite vehicles color. But I'm excited for you! Heck, you'll be rolling around in a brand new 4Runner by the end of the weekend. Then you can really hang out with the cool guys...Team 4Runners..haha!!
Come on Matt...really!!!! You know the deal: Friends don't let Friends drive J**ps :censored: :crapstorm:
See, if your best friend had been driving a Toyota 4Runner or Taco, he wouldn't have been stuck in the first place...:ohsnap: Well, what's done is done. I'm wishing you the best of luck that you won't have any issues with your rig! That could be a nightmare.

It's still better than his old beat up for Ranger haha, if I had a say I'd put him in a Highlander or something close to the styling of what he has. The Chevy Colorado is ours too but 2WD. So far so good without having issues. I'm putting my new coilovers and CV axles with an oil change getting done in the upcoming weeks so I'll likely look at everything else while I'm in there just to clear everything up. I spent an extensive amount of time looking in the engine bay and underneath to make sure everything seemed fine.

I get it! It's a really common color. My favorite is Pyrite in the Tacomas. I love Quicksand. If I had the cash, I'd get a TRD Pro 4Runner because they come in that color.

I don't know why...but grey/silver I have never liked. Maybe it's because the vehicle still has the look like its still in primer...the truck looks like it still needs painted...haha. If I were to buy a new 4Runner...my first choice would be the "Nautical Blue Metallic". Now that's a sweet color!!!!!

Thank the Lord we all have different opinions and different likes...otherwise this world would be one boring ass place..haha!! But hey...I do like the white your getting...Although the Pearl sweet too!
