Finally uploaded my snow storm pictures. here's the dump:

about half way through the storm
    [IMG]

puppies first time in deep snow. the loved it.

the white one is an ostrich it seems
    [IMG]

I sank deeper in the snow drifts than the dogs did.....

had to shovel in waves so we could stay ahead of the snow. this was Saturday morning, with another foot to 18 inches coming.

    one of the stuck plows
    [IMG]

    getting the plow unstuck
    [IMG]

doubt I'll ever see the beltway this empty ever again.

Surly fat tire bike making easy riding in the deep stuff
    [IMG]

Off roaders showed up to the pub mid storm
    [IMG]

cross country skiers on the bicycle paths
    [IMG]

    [IMG][IMG]

    Fucked
    [IMG]

    Really fucked
    [IMG]

worst part about a roof rack is getting snow out of all of the little knooks and crannys. leaf blower is the solution. worked like a charm
    [IMG]

drove home from DC on sunday, and was disappointed with how much less snow we got, just an hour and a half away....

My final thoughts on the storm

Take old bolts out, wedge spacer in, put new bolts in, tighten.....done. I read they don't really do anything.

makes a difference in the first gens. on the second gens, it just rotates the diff. so a 1'' diff drop really only nets out to about 1/4'' drop at the center of the CV. also, since you are changing the pinion angle, the ring gear will not throw oil directly at the pinion gear/bearings. though this is a very minor thing that you shouldn't worry about too much, it could cause your inner pinion bearing to wear out a little sooner.

except for the very last photo, they are all from Vienna/Tysons in Virginia. The last photo is our house down by Solomons Island
