Getting 30 mpg on the highway

I grew up in Alabama.... Read about alaska when I was probably 9 years old and always wanted to live here. Life happened and my parents ended up moving us up here when I was 16. Hated it for a bit cause I was a stupid angst-y highschooler.

Got my shit together and went to college up here... financially worked out great. Took out no student loans :D I work as a Civil Engineer for the State DOT. Oversee construction shit in the summer. Chill in the office and take care of paperwork...

I will say Alaska is not exactly what my 9 year old self expected. But it is exceeding my expectations.... If you love winter and the outdoors you will love it.

@Ghost. I bet he could, but I'd watch him close the higher you get. There are a few steep drop-off points and whatnot.

Worst case, youll just have to turn around early :)

Ugh. I am allowed to hike flat things. For like an hour. So we hiked powerline for 2 hours last night. I am strictly forbidden from flattop... or even blueberry hill... for now. Hoping for early april being cleared to do most things. Skiing is out for the season for sure though :( 6 months from surgery for that.... Surgery was mid Dec....
